You will define the long-term QA vision, spearhead company-wide quality initiatives, and ensure the delivery of highly reliable and performant products. What you'll do
- Develop and implement the organization's QA and Quality Engineering strategy, aligning with business and product goals.
- Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing global QA team across various programs.
- Establish key performance indicators and metrics to track product quality, release readiness, and automation effectiveness.
- Drive company-wide quality improvements, including test automation modernization and continuous integration quality.
- Partner with senior leaders to prioritize investments and process enhancements for product quality and engineering speed.
- Serve as the primary QA contact and escalation point for major quality issues and initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee QA planning and execution for multiple programs, ensuring alignment with organizational timelines.
- Ensure products meet high standards for reliability, scalability, and usability before release.
- Communicate quality risks, release readiness, and mitigation strategies to executive leadership.
- Improve organizational efficiency through optimized test planning, automation, and resource allocation.
- Lead hiring efforts to attract top QA and Quality Engineering talent.
- Promote collaboration and transparency across geographically dispersed teams.
- Champion quality automation strategies across various testing types, including UI, API, and data.
- Oversee the implementation and governance of enterprise QA tools and reporting systems.
- Establish quality gates and automated validation within CI/CD pipelines.
- Reduce defect escape rates and drive preventative quality practices to improve production stability.
- Lead post-release quality reviews and root cause analysis initiatives.
- Evaluate new technologies, including AI/ML-driven testing, to enhance efficiency and defect detection.
- Define and lead the organization's AI-enabled Quality Engineering strategy, leveraging AI for test generation, optimization, and insights.
- Drive the adoption of AI tools within the QA organization to boost productivity and accelerate validation.
- Ensure effective management of test environments, test data, and release validation processes.
- Advise Engineering and Product leadership on quality risks and operational improvements.
- Influence organizational decisions to embed quality throughout product development.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to enhance observability and deployment reliability.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding quality strategies.
- Represent the QA organization in executive meetings and roadmap discussions.
- Incorporate end-user feedback and production insights into quality initiatives.
Requirements
- 12 or more years of Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering experience.
- 7 or more years in senior leadership or management roles.
- Proven experience leading enterprise QA organizations across multiple products and teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep understanding of modern SDLC methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
- Strong expertise in QA methodologies, testing strategies, automation frameworks, and release management.
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling enterprise-grade QA and Quality Engineering organizations.
- Experience defining organizational quality strategy, metrics, governance, and operational excellence programs.
- Strong hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or TestNG.
- Experience with API testing, performance testing, and security testing methodologies and tools.
- Strong understanding of hybrid architectures and platforms, including AWS and on-premise datacenters.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Strong experience with modern engineering and QA tools such as JIRA, Practitest, and Postman.
- Experience with version control systems like Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive organizational change.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
- Strong leadership presence, negotiation skills, and executive-level presentation capabilities.
- Experience operating effectively in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Strong quality mindset with exceptional attention to detail and operational rigor.
Nice to have
- Experience in OEM, Consumer Electronics, digital advertising, AdTech, media, or related technology industries.
- Advanced QA certifications such as CSQE or ISTQB Advanced.
- Experience architecting enterprise-level automation frameworks (data-driven, keyword-driven, hybrid).
- Experience with service virtualization concepts and tooling.
- Experience building testing frameworks for SDKs and distributed systems.
- Advanced performance engineering expertise using tools like LoadRunner, JMeter, NeoLoad, or Locust.
- Experience implementing AI/ML-driven quality engineering and intelligent testing approaches.
- Strong understanding of emerging AI technologies and practical applications of generative AI in software testing.
- Experience evaluating and integrating AI-powered QA tools for test case generation, defect prediction, and optimization.
- Strong programming or scripting expertise in JavaScript (Node.js), Python, or Java.
- Experience managing globally distributed QA organizations and offshore teams.
- Experience driving large-scale QA transformation initiatives and operational maturity programs.
