Backend Engineer

About the role

Lendbuzz is building financial technology to provide fair credit access to underserved borrowers. We are seeking a backend developer to join our R&D team in Tel Aviv to scale our core systems and develop new product features.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Develop backend systems starting from the initial design phase.
• Collaborate with engineering peers on system architecture for upcoming products.
• Create internal tools and manage integrations with third-party APIs.
• Participate in the full lifecycle of product development, including testing and deployment.
• Utilize AI coding assistants to increase output while maintaining high standards for security and code quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of professional backend development experience.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Practical experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Background in designing and connecting RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with software testing methodologies.
• Ability to integrate AI development tools into daily workflows while validating AI-generated output.
• Independent work style with strong communication skills.
• Note: A degree from a top-tier university with a GPA of 90+ or graduation with honors is a strong plus.

Nice to have

• Background in Fintech, payment systems, or billing.
• Experience building microservices.
• Familiarity with AWS.
