Senior Manager, Insurance Operations

What you'll do

• Oversee filing platform and automation projects from inception to launch, including planning, development, testing, and refinement in collaboration with Product and Engineering.
• Continuously analyze filing workflows and regulatory mandates to pinpoint key areas for AI integration, automation, and overall efficiency improvements.
• Champion the adoption of new tools and processes across the insurance department, clearly demonstrating the value of platform capabilities to stakeholders.
• Establish and lead the Insurance Operations platform team, responsible for the ownership and scaling of filing tools, fostering an environment that values experimentation, regulatory adherence, and operational impact.
• Set and maintain high standards for filing quality, speed, and compliance as automation increases, ensuring that developed solutions perform effectively within a regulated context.
• Define the operational framework, governance structures, and feedback mechanisms that enable the platform team to build with both speed and precision.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in the insurance industry, with significant involvement in filings, regulatory operations, or compliance.
• At least 3 years of experience managing teams, with a proven ability to lead technically proficient individual contributors and ensure they achieve desired outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience in automation and process improvement is mandatory.
• Experience in identifying and replacing manual or inefficient operational workflows with technology-driven solutions that enhance speed, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
• Practical proficiency with large language models such as Claude or ChatGPT, including the ability to construct prompts, define logic, and utilize AI to enhance productivity.
• Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to drive progress through others, bridge the gap between technical and operational perspectives, and maintain momentum through shifting priorities.
• Advanced analytical skills with the capacity to independently derive insights that inform platform decisions.
• A proactive approach to building and creating structure in ambiguous environments, with a focus on achieving results.
