What you'll do

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze system requirements, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client needs.
• Design and develop system architectures that are robust, scalable, and secure, leveraging industry best practices and standards.
• Implement and configure software and hardware solutions, ensuring seamless integration within existing systems.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of systems to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability meet specified criteria.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing timely support to users and maintaining system integrity.
• Document system designs, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Participate in project planning and management activities, contributing to timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment.

• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development and technical skills.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security protocols.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders, effectively communicating technical concepts and project updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering or a related discipline, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
• Proficiency in systems design and architecture, with hands-on experience in implementing complex systems.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, and experience with scripting for automation tasks.
• Solid knowledge of networking concepts, operating systems, and database management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, demonstrating effective time management skills.
• Security clearance or eligibility for clearance is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure, and familiarity with cloud architecture principles.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes, and their application in system deployment.
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and best practices, particularly in relation to system security.
• Previous experience in a government contracting environment or with defense-related projects.
