About the role
LeafLink is looking for a Senior BSA/AML Analyst to manage financial crime investigations within our cannabis-focused banking infrastructure. This position requires a specialist capable of navigating complex regulatory environments and FinCEN guidance for high-risk clients.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Investigate AML alerts across various program partners.
- Review alerts related to negative news, OFAC and PEP screening, and license violations.
- Perform due diligence and continuous monitoring for cannabis industry clients.
- Draft marijuana-related SARs following FinCEN guidance for limited, priority, and termination filings.
- Assist in building and adjusting transaction monitoring rules for specific risk typologies.
- Manage the onboarding and ongoing review process for CRB accounts, including beneficial ownership and license verification.
- Audit CRB accounts to ensure cash deposits and sales patterns match licensed business activity.
- Assist with internal and external audits and regulatory examinations by preparing documentation and answering inquiries.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in BSA/AML compliance.
- Proficiency in filing marijuana-related SARs under FinCEN MRB guidance.
- Understanding of BaaS compliance models and AML obligations within partner programs.
- Ability to analyze state cannabis license data and verify operational structures for dispensaries, cultivators, and processors.
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech or cannabis banking.
- CAMS certification.

- Cannabis compliance tools: METRC, BioTrack, Shield Assure, RiskScout.
Practical notes
Base salary range: $35 to $40 USD per hour.
