FP&A Manager/Senior Manager

About the role

LayerZero Labs is seeking a Strategic Finance Lead to establish and manage our financial operating system. You will work closely with the CFO and executive leadership to guide resource allocation, forecasting, and high-level decision-making. This role is responsible for building the finance function from the ground up within a high-growth, omnichain protocol environment.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Manage the annual operating plan, long-range planning, and quarterly reforecasting cycles.
• Maintain the primary three-statement and driver-based operating model to support budget and scenario analysis.
• Collaborate with department heads in Engineering, Product, Marketing, and G&A to oversee headcount and investment strategy.
• Prepare financial narratives and performance reports for the board, investors, and internal executives.
• Design financial frameworks for token economics, on-chain revenue, and ecosystem incentive programs.
• Select and implement the finance tech stack, including ERP, planning software, and BI tools.
• Recruit and mentor finance team members as the organization expands.

Requirements

• 4 to 8 plus years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting.
• In-house experience at a high-growth technology, fintech, or crypto firm.
• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math, or a quantitative field.
• History of managing company-wide planning cycles and working directly with C-suite stakeholders.
• Advanced financial modeling skills with a focus on operating models used by executive leadership.
• Experience managing and developing professional staff.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced, and multi-entity settings.

Nice to have

• MBA, CFA, or CPA designation.
• Familiarity with token models, digital asset accounting, or on-chain data analysis.
• Experience building a strategic finance function from its early stages.

Skills & tools

• ERP systems such as NetSuite.
• Planning software such as Anaplan, Pigment, Cube, Mosaic, or Adaptive.
• BI tools and SQL fluency, specifically Looker, Tableau, or Hex.
