About the role
This role is central to our Professional Services team, guiding clients in adopting LaunchDarkly to achieve faster, more reliable, and secure software releases. You will act as a key technical advisor, helping customers integrate LaunchDarkly into their AI-driven applications and platforms. The work is critical for enabling safe feature rollouts and experimentation in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

What you'll do
- Lead client engagements focused on AI and traditional software delivery, aligning their objectives with LaunchDarkly's capabilities.
- Collaborate with clients to integrate feature management into their AI applications, including LLM-powered systems and agentic workflows.
- Design and assist in implementing safe AI rollout strategies, such as progressive exposure, guardrails, and model experimentation, directly within client codebases.
- Develop and deliver working code examples, integrations, and prototypes alongside client engineering teams.
- Work directly within client environments to instrument AI systems with LaunchDarkly at inference and workflow decision points.
- Provide consultative guidance on client architectures, gather requirements, and influence technical and organizational decisions.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to engineering, platform, DevOps, and AI leadership.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges that impede client value realization, particularly in complex or AI-focused systems.
- Become a subject matter expert on LaunchDarkly and emerging AI delivery patterns, staying current with industry advancements.
- Synthesize client feedback to inform and shape future AI-related product capabilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in enterprise software, platform engineering, or solutions architecture, with a hands-on, consultative approach.
- Proficiency in writing production-quality code in at least one modern language (Python, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, Go, or similar) to build and ship working integrations.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar agent-based approaches, or a strong willingness to learn.
- Ability to guide clients on DevOps, CI/CD, and modern release practices, including experimentation and progressive delivery.
- Experience delivering across the full software development lifecycle in enterprise settings and leading teams through development or platform transformations.
- Solid understanding of how feature management and experimentation platforms enhance and de-risk software delivery.
- Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Linux, and container technologies.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Practical notes
- Salary ranges:
- Zone 1 (San Francisco/Bay Area, NYC Metro, Boston, Seattle): $171,000 - $235,400
- Zone 2 (Irvine, LA, Austin, Portland, Chicago, etc.): $154,000 - $211,000
- Zone 3 (All other US locations): $145,000 - $200,000
- Compensation includes Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, dental insurance, and mental health benefits.
