About the role
LaunchDarkly is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to enhance our Observability product by addressing key enterprise needs. This role is central to our post-acquisition growth, involving large-scale system migrations and the development of new enterprise-grade features.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop full-stack features that meet enterprise requirements for Observability.
- Take ownership of integrations and infrastructure capabilities, from API design and backend services to user interface elements.
- Work with product managers, designers, solutions engineers, and customers to define and deliver solutions for enterprise challenges.
- Contribute to architectural and design discussions, making informed decisions about scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Write well-tested code and uphold high engineering standards.
- Engage with internal teams and sometimes external customers to validate solutions and gather feedback.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the reliability of your features in production.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production-ready full-stack features.
- Proficiency in both frontend and backend development, specifically with TypeScript/React for the frontend and Go (or a comparable language) for the backend.
- Experience building scalable integrations, data pipelines, or APIs that connect different systems.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi, or experience developing APIs compatible with IaC practices.
- Understanding of enterprise software needs, including compliance, auditability, role-based access control, and GitOps workflows.
- Strong communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration across different functions and comfortable interaction with technical customers and solutions engineers.
Nice to have
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- Familiarity with LaunchDarkly's feature flagging or Observability products.

Practical notes
Pay ranges based on US geographic zones:
Zone 1 (SF/Bay Area, NYC Metro, Boston, Seattle): $171,200 - $235,400
Zone 2 (Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago): $154,100 - $211,860
Zone 3 (All other US locations): $145,500 - $200,090
Compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
