About the role
Join the AgentControl team to develop core customer-facing applications and large-scale distributed systems for AI evaluations. You will build the tools that allow customers to manage, observe, and refine their agent functionalities.

What you'll do
- Construct and maintain robust backend services, distributed systems, and APIs that support the AgentControl product.
- Work with Go, Python, and TypeScript, integrating with technologies like AWS, CockroachDB, Datadog, DeepEval, and FastAPI.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and other engineering groups to address real-world challenges and enhance AI workflows.
- Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Contribute to architectural and design discussions, evaluating trade-offs and making informed decisions.
- Stay current with advancements in AI and software development best practices.
- Take responsibility for production code, participate in on-call duties, and enhance system maintainability.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a history of delivering full-stack features to production.
- Practical experience building Generative AI features, agents, or working with Large Language Models (LLMs), either through direct integration or using AI services like OpenAI, Google Cloud AI, or AWS Bedrock.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, or deploying AI services in production.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Proven ability to write production-ready code with a focus on quality and maintainability.
- Experience with distributed systems or data ingestion pipelines.
- Solid foundation in computer science principles.
- Commitment to working in a collaborative and communicative environment.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced, evolving field and a desire to be at the forefront of AI.
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability for delivering impactful solutions.
- Ability to collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to define requirements in an iterative setting.

Practical notes
Compensation ranges are based on geographic zones within the US:
Zone 1 (San Francisco/Bay Area, NYC Metro, Boston, Seattle): $171,200 - $235,400
Zone 2 (Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago): $154,100 - $211,860
Zone 3 (All other US locations): $145,500 - $200,090
This salary range is in addition to Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, dental insurance, and mental health benefits. Exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, and location.
