Full Stack Engineer, Experimentation
About the role
Join LaunchDarkly's Experimentation team and help build a powerful yet user-friendly platform for data-driven product testing. You will contribute to both the backend services and frontend user experiences that enable customers to run impactful experiments. This role offers the chance to own features, expand your technical skills, and improve system quality.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain scalable, performant systems for experimentation features, focusing on usability and maintainability.
- Work with product managers, data scientists, and designers to implement new functionality and refine existing features.
- Contribute to architectural discussions that influence system scalability and performance.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks, and work to enhance service reliability.
- Write well-tested, readable code that promotes reusability.
- Participate in code reviews, offering constructive feedback to colleagues.
- Help improve system observability, monitoring, and operational practices.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, collaborating with other teams as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience building full-stack web applications.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience building or maintaining production-grade, scalable systems.
- Familiarity with observability concepts and tools (logging, metrics, monitoring).
- Good collaboration and communication skills, with a team-first approach.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Experience with CI/CD practices and tools.
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude.
- Ability to adapt and succeed in a dynamic work environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with TypeScript, React, Node, and Go.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Prior experience working with distributed teams.

Practical notes
- Salary ranges:
- Zone 1 (SF/Bay Area, NYC, Boston, Seattle): $171,200 - $235,400
- Zone 2 (Irvine, LA, Austin, Portland, Chicago, etc.): $154,100 - $211,860
- Zone 3 (All other US locations): $145,500 - $200,090
- Compensation includes salary, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, dental insurance, and mental health benefits.
