About the role
Join the Foundation team at LaunchDarkly to shape the initial experience for new developers. You will build intelligent systems that guide users from discovery to value, focusing on product-led growth metrics. This role involves creating agent-driven onboarding and integrating LaunchDarkly into developer workflows.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Guide new features from concept through development, release, and experimentation, with a clear connection to product growth.
- Develop next-generation onboarding using AI agents that integrate with developer tools and servers, aiming for immediate user value.
- Track and analyze user journey metrics, from signup to conversion, and design experiments to improve them.
- Build capabilities that extend LaunchDarkly into commonly used developer tools.
- Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to translate user feedback into actionable product improvements.
- Utilize LaunchDarkly's own features for development and experimentation, providing direct product feedback.
- Participate in a "you build it, you run it" culture, including potential on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years in full-stack engineering, with a proven history of owning features from inception to deployment.
- Experience shipping AI-powered features in production, including work with agent frameworks or LLM tool use, and a clear understanding of their effectiveness.
- Proficiency across the full stack, with strong skills in TypeScript and React for frontend development, and experience with Go or Node.js for backend.
- Demonstrated success in improving product-led growth metrics through hands-on experience with instrumentation, funnel analysis, and A/B testing.
- A habit of using experimentation to validate hypotheses and drive decisions.
- Strong intuition for effective developer onboarding processes and an understanding of user friction.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product and design teams, communicate clearly, and contribute beyond coding.
- Genuine interest in the application of AI within developer platforms and a desire to influence product direction.

- Experience with MCP servers.

- Compensation range for Level 3:
- Zone 1 (SF/Bay Area, NYC, Boston, Seattle): $171,200 - $235,400
- Zone 2 (Irvine, LA, Austin, Portland, Chicago, etc.): $154,100 - $211,860
- Zone 3 (All other US locations): $145,500 - $200,090
- Compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

- Geographic pay zones are based on US counties surrounding major metropolitan areas.
