About the role
LaunchDarkly is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to represent the company within the San Francisco Bay Area developer community. You will focus on the evolving AI software landscape by participating in local meetups, hackathons, and demo nights to build long-term relationships with engineers. This role involves gathering technical insights from the field and demonstrating how runtime control and feature management apply to modern agentic software.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Attend local developer events several times per week to engage with AI and platform engineers.
- Collect and report structured feedback on how developers build, release, and manage agentic software.
- Develop and present technical demonstrations using AgentControl and the LaunchDarkly platform.
- Author event recaps and technical content that provides value to the community.
- Facilitate gatherings focused on solving specific engineering challenges.
- Route community insights and relationship opportunities to internal teams.
Requirements
- Professional experience in developer advocacy, solutions engineering, community management, or customer success.
- Residency in the San Francisco Bay Area with the ability to attend in-person evening events multiple times per week.
- Ability to build functional demos and engage in deep technical discussions without scripts.
- Active participation in or strong interest in the AI developer ecosystem.
- Excellent written communication skills for producing high-quality technical content.

Practical notes
Compensation for this Level 4 role is based on geographic zones. Zone 1 (SF/Bay Area, NYC, Boston, Seattle) pays $152,000 to $210,000. Zone 2 (Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago) pays $137,000 to $189,000. Zone 3 (all other US locations) pays $129,000 to $178,000. Benefits include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, dental, and mental health coverage.
