About the role
LangChain is seeking a results-oriented account manager to drive customer adoption, retention, and growth. This role is a key commercial point of contact for a segment of customers, focusing on building lasting partnerships and ensuring customers gain full value from the LangChain platform. Success in this position directly impacts customer retention and net revenue retention.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage the complete post-signature customer journey for a portfolio of commercial clients, ensuring high retention.
- Develop and maintain a rolling forecast for your portfolio, consistently meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual renewal and net retention goals.
- Proactively identify and reduce churn risk by monitoring customer health, product usage, and addressing commercial challenges.
- Discover and act on expansion opportunities by understanding customer needs and aligning them with new features and products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, from technical users to financial decision-makers.
- Serve as the customer's advocate, providing feedback on value, product gaps, and business outcomes to inform the product roadmap.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, GTM Engineering, and RevOps teams to provide a unified post-sale experience.
- Lead commercial negotiations, structure renewal contracts, and manage quoting and procurement processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a quota-carrying, customer-facing role such as Account Management, Customer Success, or Renewals Manager, preferably in B2B SaaS.
- Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding retention and expansion quotas (e.g., Gross Renewal Rate, Net Revenue Retention).
- Strong commercial understanding and negotiation skills, with experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder renewal cycles.
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to explain the value of complex technical products.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of building rapport and conveying value to diverse audiences.
- Deep understanding of customer business objectives and a commitment to helping them achieve goals using the platform.
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) for pipeline management and forecasting.
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Direct experience at a high-growth, developer-first, or AI/ML infrastructure company.
- Experience managing renewals in a consumption or usage-based pricing model.
