About the role
We are seeking a dynamic leader to join our rapidly growing AI cloud infrastructure company as the Head of Consolidation Accounting. This pivotal position will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements across various entities and currencies as we prepare for our public offering. You will play a key role in developing and enhancing our consolidation processes, systems, and controls to meet future growth and regulatory requirements.

What you'll do
- Oversee the complete financial statement consolidation process for all legal entities, ensuring accurate intercompany eliminations, foreign currency adjustments, minority interests, and top-level adjustments.
- Serve as the main business owner for NetSuite in relation to consolidations, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity structures, working closely with the Financial Systems team.
- Develop and enhance intercompany accounting policies, which include transfer pricing, billing, settlement, and reconciliation procedures.
- Collaborate with the Tax team to establish intercompany transfer pricing policies and manage ongoing settlements effectively.
- Act as a liaison between Accounting Operations, Technical Accounting, and Financial Systems to ensure consolidation needs are integrated into system designs and closing processes.
- Lead the accounting close calendar specifically for consolidation activities, ensuring all teams adhere to deadlines.
- Design and implement consolidation processes and systems as new entities, currencies, and business lines are introduced into the organization.
- Supervise SOX controls related to consolidation and intercompany activities, ensuring their effectiveness and supporting audit processes.
- Partner with Technical Accounting to address accounting for new entity structures, acquisitions, and other transactions that impact consolidation.
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, elimination entries, and supporting schedules for all reporting periods.
- Manage statutory reporting and adjustments from local GAAP to US GAAP for international subsidiaries, collaborating with local teams and advisors.
- Build an IPO-ready consolidation infrastructure, which includes scalable closing processes, system controls, and reporting that meets public company standards.
- Automate and continuously refine the consolidation process to minimize manual effort and risk as the organization expands.
- Provide consolidation-related audit deliverables and serve as the primary contact for auditors during year-end audits.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff involved in consolidation and intercompany closing processes.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on consolidations and multi-entity/intercompany accounting.
- CPA certification is required.
- In-depth practical experience with NetSuite OneWorld, particularly in intercompany management and multi-subsidiary consolidation features.
- Comprehensive technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP consolidation principles (ASC 810, ASC 830, ASC 805).
- Proven experience in creating and managing SOX controls, including direct engagement with both internal and external auditors.
- Demonstrated ability to establish or significantly improve consolidation and closing processes in a high-growth, multi-entity organization.
- Experience working collaboratively with Technical Accounting, Accounting Operations, FP&A, Tax, and Financial Systems teams.
- Strong project management capabilities for leading system and process design initiatives from inception to completion.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex accounting concepts to non-accounting personnel.
- High attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with an IPO or preparing for one.
- Familiarity with consolidation or close automation tools such as BlackLine, OneStream, or Trintech integrated with NetSuite.
- Experience managing multi-currency, multi-entity structures that involve international subsidiaries and local statutory reporting.
- Knowledge of equity accounting for non-controlling interests, joint ventures, or variable interest entities.
- Background in a capital-intensive or infrastructure-focused industry, such as data centers, cloud infrastructure, or hardware.

Practical notes
