About the role
Join the Software and Controls team to build and maintain cloud-based analytics platforms. You will manage the full development lifecycle for data-heavy infrastructure that supports our global technology roadmap.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect and support cloud-native services and data pipelines for Big Data and Enterprise Analytics.
- Translate business requirements into technical implementation plans alongside product leads.
- Enhance existing applications by focusing on operational performance and system reliability.
- Perform root-cause analysis and debugging across the entire software stack.
- Optimize system performance through concurrency management and data-access improvements.
- Create technical documentation, including runbooks, design notes, and flow diagrams.
- Participate in code reviews and testing to maintain high engineering standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience; OR Master degree with 3+ years of experience; OR PhD with no professional experience.
- Proficiency in Python and Java.
- Strong background in object-oriented design.
- Experience with Azure cloud-native development including Azure Functions, Event Hub, Event Grid, and Azure Batch.
- Experience building data pipelines using Azure Data Lake Storage.
- Experience with analytics software development using Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, HDInsight, or Azure AI Search.
- Experience with distributed systems using FastAPI, Celery, and Redis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Iceberg table formats and Parquet columnar storage.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of stream processing via Apache Kafka or Spark Streaming.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git, Jira, and Confluence.
- Understanding of computer architecture fundamentals.
- Background in the semiconductor equipment manufacturing industry.

Practical notes
- Salary range for the San Francisco Bay Area is $99,000.00 to $220,000.00 per year.
- This role follows a hybrid work model, classified as either On-site Flex or Virtual Flex depending on specific requirements.
