About the role
This position focuses on building data pipelines and performing statistical analysis for Life Science, HEOR, and RWE research. You will utilize the Komodo Healthcare Map to answer complex questions and support observational studies.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect end-to-end SQL pipelines for large-scale healthcare data extraction, transformation, and validation.
- Implement statistical models in R to support HEOR and RWE research objectives.
- Maintain documentation, version control via Git, and quality control processes throughout the study lifecycle.
- Create publication-ready deliverables for external clients.
- Present research findings to cross-functional stakeholders and incorporate feedback.
- Develop standardized programming modules to improve research reproducibility and efficiency.
- Validate analysis work and troubleshoot technical issues.
Requirements
- MS degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of industry experience creating production-grade SQL pipelines for large databases.
- Proficiency in R (preferred), Python, or SAS.
- Experience with Git and command-line workflows.
- Hands-on experience with administrative claims, EHR, or RWD, including U.S. medical coding systems like ICD-10, CPT, and NDC.
- Experience collaborating with epidemiologists or subject matter experts to execute research.
- Ability to perform statistical analysis including regression, hypothesis testing, and descriptive analytics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
Nice to have
- Advanced SQL skills such as dbt or query optimization.
- Expertise in HEOR/RWE, including treatment patterns, LoT, HCRU/cost analysis, and synthetic control arms.
- Experience with health economic modeling like BIM or CEA.
- Advanced statistical modeling skills in survival analysis, PSM, causal inference, and bootstrapping.
- Contributions to peer-reviewed publications.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, R package development, or Shiny apps.

Practical notes
Salary for San Francisco Bay Area and NYC: $147,000 to $160,000 USD.
Salary for all other US locations: $128,000 to $160,000 USD.
