About the role
Komodo Health is seeking a Director of Corporate Security to evaluate our internal security posture and implement strategic enhancements across the organization. This executive role reports to the CFO and requires a leader capable of managing both high-level strategy and granular operational details to protect our systems, data, and workforce.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define and execute a corporate security roadmap covering identity management, endpoint trust, SaaS security, and incident response.
- Establish and maintain security frameworks, policies, and metrics for board-level reporting and audit readiness.
- Manage security operations including SIEM monitoring, EDR/MDR, and email security to improve detection and response times.
- Partner with IT to standardize provisioning, deprovisioning, and access governance.
- Develop and enforce governance guardrails for internal enterprise AI usage, including SSO, RBAC, and data handling standards.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing security team.
- Represent the security program during investor diligence, customer reviews, and regulatory inquiries.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in corporate or IT security at the Director level or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience leading and developing teams.
- Proven success building or maturing security programs in both high-growth startup and enterprise or regulated environments.
- Deep expertise in IAM, endpoint security, SaaS security, and incident response.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR/MDR, and IAM platforms.
- Experience with SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks and audit processes.
- Background in healthcare, life sciences, or environments managing sensitive PHI/PII data.
- Ability to translate technical risk into business language for executive stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience scaling security through Series C to E or pre-IPO stages.
- Familiarity with Apple device management and mixed-device environments.
- Proficiency in security automation to enhance detection and response efficiency.
- Experience managing distributed organizations with significant SaaS sprawl.
- Background in evaluating and managing enterprise security vendors.

Practical notes
- Salary (SF Bay Area/NYC): $237,000 to $290,000 USD.
- Salary (All other US locations): $206,000 to $260,000 USD.

- This is a remote-eligible position.
