About the role
You will own the management and strategic growth of key accounts and other designated accounts within the New Jersey market, acting as the primary liaison between Kiva Confections and its retail partners. You are responsible for developing and executing collaborative programs that drive category leadership and brand preference in a highly competitive environment. This role requires you to analyze account performance, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable plans that maximize sales potential. You will build deep, consultative relationships with buyers and decision-makers, positioning Kiva as a trusted partner in the cannabis confection category. In addition, you will own the end-to-end sales process, from opportunity identification through deal execution and renewal management. You will leverage your expertise to forecast demand accurately and ensure that inventory strategies align with account objectives. Ultimately, you will be the strategic driver behind revenue growth and market penetration for Kiva's portfolio in your assigned region.

What you'll do
Develop and implement strategic account plans for key accounts in the Newark region to drive sales growth and market share.
Perform in-depth analysis of store performance, inventory turns, and consumer trends to optimize product placement and assortment strategies.
Collaborate with marketing teams to design and execute localized promotional campaigns, in-store activations, and sampling initiatives that boost brand engagement.
Negotiate trade terms and manage promotions to ensure profitability and compliance with retailer requirements.
Lead new business development efforts by identifying and qualifying new retail partners and expanding Kiva's presence in priority accounts.
Coordinate with supply chain and operations to ensure timely product delivery and resolve any out-of-stock or fulfillment issues.
Utilize Salesforce and other CRM tools to maintain accurate records of customer interactions, forecast sales, and track key performance indicators.
Present quarterly business reviews to key stakeholders, highlighting achievements, insights, and growth opportunities for your assigned accounts.
Partner with the product team to provide feedback on new product concepts and flavor innovations based on on-the-ground market intelligence.
Educate retail staff on product features, compliance rules, and merchandising standards to ensure consistent brand representation.
Monitor competitive activity and pricing strategies, and adjust account tactics to maintain a competitive edge.
Manage all client communications, ensuring responses are professional, timely, and aligned with Kiva's brand voice and standards.
Support the execution of trade shows and industry events within the region to strengthen partner relationships and generate new leads.
Track and report on the ROI of marketing initiatives and sales programs to demonstrate value and inform future strategies.
Champion a data-driven approach to sales, using insights to refine strategies and achieve incremental growth over time.
Requirements
Must reside near Newark, New Jersey, with reliable transportation suitable for making frequent local deliveries and client visits.
Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record in accordance with company vehicle policies.
Have at least two years of proven sales experience in the cannabis, CPG, or confectionery industry, with a track record of exceeding quotas.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of retail dynamics, including planogram execution, inventory management, and category management principles.
Show proficiency in using CRM software, spreadsheets, and presentation tools to analyze data and communicate findings effectively.
Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate with buyers and influence at multiple organizational levels.
Display a high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential business information and regulatory matters.
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires adaptability, resilience, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Have a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic operational landscape.
Commit to adhering to all state and local regulations regarding the sale, distribution, and promotion of cannabis-infused products.
Willing to participate in after-hours events, sampling programs, and promotional activities as required to support brand objectives.
Maintain a valid certification or willingness to obtain compliance training related to cannabis sales and retail operations.
Demonstrate a passion for consumer packaged goods and a deep appreciation for premium food and beverage experiences.

Practical notes
This is a full-time position based in Newark, New Jersey, requiring availability during standard business hours as well as occasional evenings and weekends for market events.
Travel is primarily local within the New Jersey region, with occasional visits to corporate offices for training and strategy sessions.
