About the role
Kin is expanding its Claims team and seeks a Senior Auto Claims Adjuster specializing in bodily injury. This role involves managing a diverse caseload of auto claims, from initial filing through final resolution, with a strong focus on litigated matters. You will develop strategies, negotiate settlements, and contribute to the team's overall approach to complex claims.

What you'll do
- Oversee a portfolio of litigated auto liability and bodily injury claims from assignment to completion.
- Formulate litigation strategies by analyzing initial complaints, amended actions, and evolving case details.
- Evaluate claims exposure and craft negotiation plans for settlements.
- Review legal documents like pleadings, discovery, and motions to align suit-handling plans with case progress.
- Collaborate with defense counsel, claims counsel, and management on strategic planning.
- Cultivate relationships with approved defense firms and industry vendors.
- Prepare for and participate in mediations, depositions, arbitrations, and trials.
- Apply knowledge of multi-state statutes, including Florida's insurance code, PIP statute, and bad faith regulations.
- Maintain active adjuster licensing and continuing education credits, staying informed on legal changes.
- Provide mentorship to junior adjusters through file reviews, coverage inquiries, and complex claim guidance.
Requirements
- 8 or more years of experience in auto claims adjusting.
- 3 or more years of experience with auto injury claims and litigation.
- Extensive background handling claims in Florida, including its insurance code, PIP statute, and bad faith framework.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior adjusters, including leading file reviews and coaching on complex claims.
- Advanced capability to document case activities and communications, both written and verbal, throughout litigation.
- Comfortably manage both high-volume, straightforward claims and complex litigated files.
- Experience working directly for an insurance carrier in a fully remote, digital-first setting.
- Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills for complex coverage and liability investigations.
- Active adjuster license in good standing, with a readiness to acquire additional state licenses as needed.
