About the role
Kepler is seeking a detail-oriented professional to manage procurement and supplier relationships for our satellite constellation and on-orbit connectivity programs. You will bridge the gap between engineering, manufacturing, and finance to ensure our supply chain meets rigorous project timelines. This role is essential for maintaining material readiness and driving efficiency in our fast-paced space technology environment.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage daily purchasing tasks including processing requests, gathering quotes, and issuing purchase orders.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Track open orders and expedite deliveries to prevent project delays.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers and handle onboarding documentation.
- Collaborate with internal departments like Engineering, Quality, and Finance to resolve invoice or inspection issues.
- Support new product introduction and production cycles by securing prototype and operational hardware.
- Maintain data accuracy within our ERP systems and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Identify and escalate supply chain risks while proposing mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles within a manufacturing or operational setting.
- Proficiency in ERP or MRP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate across technical and non-technical teams.
Nice to have
- Experience in Aerospace, Defense, Space, Electronics, Robotics, or high-tech manufacturing.
- Background in new product introduction and production support.
- Knowledge of supplier quality processes and corrective action management.
- Experience handling complex electromechanical assemblies and long-lead items.
- Professional certifications such as SCMP, CPSM, CSCP, APICS, or CIPS (MCIPS/FCIPS).
