IT Manager at Kepler.
About the role
Kepler is looking for a hands-on IT Manager to oversee our IT Operations team, covering network administration, systems administration, DevOps, and general IT support. You will serve as a player-coach, balancing team leadership and strategy with direct technical involvement in infrastructure projects and incident resolution.

What you'll do
- Lead, mentor, and hire a cross-functional team of network, systems, and DevOps specialists.
- Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex issues involving cloud platforms, identity systems, and infrastructure.
- Manage the full lifecycle of IT operations, including service delivery, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
- Oversee infrastructure reliability, including virtualization, backups, disaster recovery, and network operations.
- Implement DevOps practices such as CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and containerization.
- Direct security initiatives, including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and system hardening.
- Develop IT roadmaps, manage budgets, and handle vendor relationships.
- Communicate technical risks and infrastructure health to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of progressive IT experience.
- 3+ years of experience leading or managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Proven success in a player-coach role.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master unfamiliar technical systems.
- Practical experience with Linux, Windows, identity management, and virtualization.
- Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
- Working knowledge of DevOps practices like configuration management and scripting.
- Familiarity with network security, monitoring tools, and backup systems.
- Strong ability to manage projects and operational risks in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Certifications such as CCNA, CISSP, AWS, Linux Professional Institute, or ITIL.
- Experience supporting hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Knowledge of security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.
- Experience with infrastructure modernization or cloud migration programs.
- Background in startup or aerospace industries.
