What you'll do

• Analyze large datasets to uncover valuable insights and inform strategy.
• Collaborate with business partners to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Build, refine, and deploy statistical and machine learning models.
• Design experiments to validate hypotheses and measure impact.
• Develop and maintain systems for personalized customer experiences and product recommendations.
• Address challenges related to new products and less common items in large catalogs.
• Support the real-time delivery and scalable implementation of personalization models.
• Guide and mentor junior data scientists.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• At least 3 years of experience in data science, with increasing responsibility.
• Extensive experience creating and implementing advanced algorithms using machine learning, statistics, and optimization techniques.
• Expertise in Python, R, Spark, SQL, and cloud platforms such as GCP.
• Proven ability to solve problems and contribute to product development.
• Experience proposing and executing experiments to test new strategies.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with recommendation systems, search, or ranking problems involving millions of customers and products.
• Experience developing sequential or transformer models, and using LLMs in production.
• Understanding of collaborative filtering and learning-to-rank methods.
• Experience optimizing models for GPU or distributed training.
• Familiarity with large datasets and production ML systems.
• Exposure to real-time or low-latency serving environments.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or Ph.D.
• Experience in the retail or logistics industries.
• Familiarity with supply chain management or marketing models.
• Experience with vector search or approximate nearest neighbor (ANN) methods like FAISS or ScaNN.
