Manager, International Payroll Operations APAC
About the role
This role will lead the strategy and execution of payroll and tax operations across the APAC region. You will be the subject matter expert for payroll activities, tax payments, and statutory reporting, ensuring full compliance with local regulations while maintaining a global perspective.

What you'll do
- Guide and develop a team of regional payroll professionals to maintain high operational standards and compliance.
- Oversee all aspects of payroll processing in active APAC countries and other designated international locations, including daily adjustments, tax filings, and statutory payments.
- Develop and implement localized processes that support regional execution while aligning with global consistency as markets expand.
- Provide payroll expertise and strategic advice to internal partners such as customer-facing teams, Finance, Legal, and Operations.
- Ensure accurate quarterly and year-end processing and tax reconciliations for all international operating countries.
- Stay informed about evolving payroll laws and regulations in the APAC region and other international areas to ensure organizational compliance.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams as a key stakeholder to automate and scale payroll solutions based on operational knowledge.
- Support internal control and compliance initiatives, including process testing and documentation.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in international payroll operations, with a focus on EOR, PEO, or HR Tech environments.
- At least 2 years of experience managing a regional or international payroll team.
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll tax regulations and statutory requirements in multiple APAC countries, such as Singapore, Australia, and India. Experience with international contractor compliance is essential.
- Demonstrated success in utilizing and enhancing payroll software and global platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex data analysis and financial modeling.
- Strong client-facing and communication abilities, capable of addressing inquiries from executives.
- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills to motivate and direct payroll professionals across different time zones.
Nice to have
- Experience in developing or advising on the creation of payroll-related technology products.
- Professional certifications such as CPP, CIPP, or their regional equivalents, including GPMI, CIPP/A, or memberships in bodies like the Australian Payroll Association.

The target base salary range for this position is ₹2,658,000-₹3,323,000 INR annually. Actual compensation will be determined by factors including skillset, relevant experience, and work location. Salary ranges may vary for positions in different locations based on local cost of labor.
