Software Development Engineer III

About the role

Jumio is seeking an engineer to join the MLOps team to build scalable systems for machine learning model deployment. You will focus on improving the lifecycle management of ML assets and optimizing inference performance to ensure cost-effective, high-speed operations.

What you'll do

• Upgrade systems for managing ML models and data to improve developer workflows and governance.
• Design and maintain infrastructure for model serving with a focus on reducing inference latency.
• Create efficient CI/CD pipelines for machine learning models.
• Architect inference solutions that balance throughput, latency, and operational costs.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers, QA, and DevOps teams on distributed system architecture.
• Evaluate and integrate new tools to enhance software development processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience using Python.
• Proficiency with ML lifecycle management tools like MLFlow or Weights & Biases.
• Experience managing data ecosystems including quality, transformation, and cataloging.
• Expertise in ML frameworks, specifically PyTorch.
• Practical experience with AWS serverless architectures, including SQS, SNS, and caching solutions.
• Knowledge of containerization using Docker and orchestration systems.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design.
• Ability to write secure, high-quality code and utilize static analysis tools.
• Solid grasp of computer science fundamentals, including algorithm design and complexity analysis.
• Experience optimizing models using AWS Neuron, ONNX, or TensorRT.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with model compilation, quantization, performance profiling, or benchmarking inference systems.
• Background working in regulated industries requiring strict compliance for cloud-native applications.
