DevOps Engineer IV (Obs)

This role requires a deep understanding of both software development and operational infrastructure. You will contribute to the reliability and efficiency of our platform by focusing on observability. As a senior individual contributor, you will mentor others and drive cross-functional initiatives.

What you'll do

• Manage and deploy web services within public cloud environments.
• Create solutions for secure, available, and scalable services.
• Take ownership of all operational aspects, including automation, monitoring, and performance.
• Develop innovative solutions to operational challenges that impact the business.
• Lead incident response and communication for critical production issues.
• Guide technical projects from conception to completion.
• Collaborate with engineering and business teams globally.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure management.
• 5+ years of experience specifically with AWS.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, networking, distributed systems, and system architecture.
• Proven experience leading significant DevOps projects.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, ECS, EKS, and infrastructure management tools.
• Proficiency in observability principles (logs, metrics, tracing).
• Experience with SaaS observability tools like Datadog, New Relic, Honeycomb, or Dynatrace.
• Experience building internal observability solutions using ELK, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Strong skills in scripting and automation using Python and Bash.
• Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer).
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Broad exposure to cloud applications, virtualization, databases, and orchestration platforms.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated curiosity and a drive for continuous learning.

Nice to have

• Previous experience as a senior developer or application architect.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps concepts.
• Experience working in regulated environments such as PCI DSS, ISO 27000, HIPAA, SOC 2, or GDPR.
