Senior Software Engineer, Notifications

Key facts

What you'll do

• Design and deploy experiments across the user funnel, focusing on notifications, onboarding, activation, and retention.
• Build and maintain distributed systems capable of supporting millions of concurrent users.
• Collaborate with data scientists and product managers to turn growth hypotheses into functional technical designs.
• Provide mentorship to team members to improve overall technical standards.
• Evaluate trade-offs between rapid prototyping and building for long-term production stability.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably with consumer or growth-oriented products.
• Proficiency in backend or full-stack development using frameworks like Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, or React.
• Experience with experimentation platforms, including A/B testing frameworks and feature flagging.
• Proven ability to ship iterative updates based on user data rather than static requirements.
• Ability to communicate technical trade-offs to cross-functional partners like designers and PMs.

Nice to have

• Experience with notification systems, user authentication, or authorization at scale.
• Background in mobile growth for iOS or Android.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted products or LLM-powered features.
