This is a chance to sharpen your liability analysis skills on contested claims, contribute to conversations on claim trends and recovery opportunities, and help shape how the property damage unit operates day to day.

Your Responsibilities

- Manage a full caseload of collision, comprehensive, third-party property damage, disputed liability, and Medpay-only claims

- Investigate and document claims from first report through resolution, evaluating vehicle damage, determining coverage, and assessing liability on contested files

- Review estimates and negotiate repair or total-loss settlements directly with appraisers and repair facilities

- Analyze claims exposure, set reserves, and drive negotiation strategy on complex files

- Draft coverage letters and resolve disputed liability claims across multiple states, including Florida

- Maintain active adjuster licensing and CE credits across all required states, staying current on statutory changes and case law

- Mentor junior adjusters through file reviews and coverage questions

- Build and maintain vendor relationships with appraisers and repair facilities to drive faster claim resolutions

You'll use your skills and judgment to take ownership of meaningful work, improve how we operate, and help move Kin's mission forward. Along the way, you'll deliver outcomes that make a real difference for both Kinfolk and the customers we serve.

By the end of your first year, you should feel confident in your role, trusted as an owner, and proud of the progress you've helped make.

- Full ownership of a multi-state caseload, including contested liability, Medpay and total-loss files. Resolving claims accurately and on time with little need for oversight and consistently meeting the teams benchmarks for cycle time and quality.

- Become a trusted resource on disputed auto liability and coverage determination, drafting clear coverage letter and raising the quality and consistency of decision across the unit.

- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, across different functional departments, providing additional insights on claim trends, reserving and recovery opportunities that improve both unit and organizational results.

What You'll Bring

- 3+ years of auto claims adjusting experience

- Experience handling Florida auto claims, including Florida's insurance code and PIP statute; experience in additional states (e.g. Texas, Georgia, Colorado, Arizona) a plus
