About the role
This position focuses on the analytics strategy for the recruiting marketplace at handshake. You will guide measurement efforts regarding liquidity, pricing, and growth while collaborating with leadership to influence product direction.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define and track metrics related to marketplace health, pricing, and growth in collaboration with product and engineering leads.
- Manage the analytics strategy, goal setting, and reporting for your specific product domain.
- Design and execute experiments, including test instrumentation and analysis.
- Work with the Relevance team to assess and benchmark machine learning models.
- Perform deep dives into user funnels, cohorts, and behavior to identify growth opportunities.
- Coordinate with analytics engineering to build scalable data models and reliable metrics.
- Develop dashboards to facilitate rapid, data-informed decisions.
- Promote AI-driven workflows within the product analytics function.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience as a product analyst or data scientist influencing product strategy.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for handling large, complex datasets.
- Proven track record in A/B testing, experimentation, and statistical analysis.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners including product managers and engineers.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis tasks using libraries like pandas or environments like Jupyter.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to convert data findings into strategic advice.
- Ability to communicate complex insights to both technical teams and executive leadership.
- High level of autonomy in managing ambiguous projects from start to finish.
Nice to have
- Background in growth, pricing, or marketplace analytics.
- Experience benchmarking or evaluating machine learning models.
- Familiarity with visualization and BI platforms such as Mode or Hex.
- Interest in using AI tools to speed up analytical workflows.
