About the role
Perplexity is seeking an AI Strategist to bridge the gap between our agentic platform and the requirements of top-tier financial institutions. You will work directly with investment teams to integrate our technology into their daily workflows, from initial discovery to full-scale production.

What you'll do
- Manage end-to-end strategic engagements with hedge funds, private equity firms, and asset managers.
- Lead technical discovery sessions to identify high-impact workflows suitable for automation.
- Build and present custom demonstrations that showcase how our tools handle screening, diligence, and earnings analysis.
- Prototype specific agentic workflows and connector configurations to prove value during pilot phases.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate complex financial requirements into actionable product specs.
- Oversee the commercial process, including scoping, proposals, and contract closures with senior stakeholders.
- Define the product roadmap by identifying gaps in our current market data, transcript, and research integrations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience within investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, or institutional asset management.
- 6+ years of total professional experience combining finance with technical go-to-market, sales engineering, or AI product strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- Deep understanding of front-office financial processes such as portfolio monitoring and research synthesis.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineering teams and executive leadership.
- Proficiency in translating ambiguous client needs into concrete deployment plans and success metrics.
Nice to have
- Practical experience building with LLM APIs, agentic systems, or the Model Context Protocol.
- Familiarity with institutional data platforms like Bloomberg, FactSet, PitchBook, or S&P Capital IQ.
- Prior experience navigating security and compliance reviews within regulated financial environments.
- A strong existing network within buy-side or sell-side firms.
- Experience working in early-stage startup environments.
