Antares is looking for a Nuclear Operations Lead to manage the execution of our nuclear programs and systems. This position is critical for ensuring the successful deployment, initiation, and operation of our reactors in accordance with established safety and design standards. The ideal candidate will excel in navigating technical and organizational boundaries while ensuring clarity and precision in complex environments.

What you'll do

• Manage the safe and efficient operation of reactor experiments and plant facilities to meet customer expectations and maximize availability.
• Develop and oversee nuclear training programs for operators and maintenance staff.
• Identify staffing needs and create the necessary procedures and programs for effective operations.
• Uphold high standards of performance and operational excellence.
• Ensure smooth operations for nuclear activities related to Antares test and deployed reactors.
• Engage in technical discussions and reviews with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Provide insights to engineering and program teams to enhance the scalability and consistency of reactor deployments.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated technical sectors.
• Proven experience in collaborating across various disciplines to deliver complex projects.
• Ability to integrate technical, regulatory, and operational requirements into actionable plans.
• Experience operating effectively in fast-paced and ambiguous settings.
• Strong technical communication skills to engage with both internal and external parties.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in engineering (nuclear, mechanical, chemical, aerospace, or a related discipline).
• Experience with reactor operations, including startup, commissioning, or deployment.
• Knowledge of nuclear safety and compliance protocols.
• Experience interacting with customers, regulators, or external partners in technical contexts.
• Background in the U.S. Navy nuclear program, national laboratories, or the commercial nuclear sector.

Skills & tools

• Familiarity with nuclear operations and safety standards.
• Proficiency in project management and technical communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
