Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in mission-critical projects, particularly in data centers and healthcare facilities. This hybrid role requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills, with responsibilities spanning from design to construction oversight.

What you'll do

• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems from initial concept through to construction completion.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers, ensuring high-quality project outcomes.
• Conduct assessments of existing systems and propose enhancements for performance and efficiency.
• Execute engineering calculations and prepare detailed construction documents.
• Identify and implement value-engineering strategies to improve project delivery.
• Participate in design and construction meetings, coordinating with various stakeholders.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and design changes, providing formal responses as needed.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Complete all necessary documentation for energy compliance and certifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is mandatory.
• 7 to 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically HVAC design; knowledge of plumbing and fire protection is advantageous.
• EIT or PE license is preferred.
• Proven track record in mission-critical projects, especially in data centers or healthcare.
• Strong ability to coordinate across disciplines in an architectural/engineering environment.
• Experience managing complex projects and interacting with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent presentation skills for design options to various stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Field experience with an understanding of construction best practices.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP 3D, Navisworks, Bluebeam Revu, Procore, Prolog, and MS Office suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Experience with LEED certification processes.

Practical notes

• Salary range is $110,000 - $155,000 per year.
