R&D Team Lead - JFrog Security

About the role

We are seeking a technical leader to guide our development group within the JFrog Security division. You will oversee the creation of security solutions that protect software throughout the entire development and runtime lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Direct a group of 4 to 6 software engineers focused on complex, large-scale systems.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle for multiple concurrent initiatives, from initial design through to final release.
• Monitor project risks and technical hurdles, ensuring all stakeholders meet deadlines and quality benchmarks.
• Determine the necessary resource allocation and technical strategies to successfully implement all team initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of professional engineering experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and mentor high-performing developers.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
• Proven background in building fault-tolerant, concurrent, low-latency, and scalable systems.
• Experience working with microservices, cloud environments, and SaaS architectures.
• History of managing software delivery milestones and resolving technical bottlenecks.
• Experience with both high-level system architecture and hands-on software design.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent context switching.
