QA Performance Engineer

About the role

You will ensure the YouTrack project management system remains fast and reliable as it scales to support millions of users. This role focuses on identifying performance bottlenecks through rigorous testing and deep technical analysis before code reaches production.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Execute and evaluate performance tests using manual and automated methods.
• Build new automated performance tests and oversee the current test suite.
• Investigate and replicate complex performance issues reported by users.
• Integrate performance test invocations into CI pipelines.
• Partner with developers on feature planning, release cycles, and incident resolution.

Requirements

• Proven background in manual and automated performance testing.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP and HTTP protocols.
• Proficiency with performance testing software like k6, Gatling, or JMeter.
• Experience testing web applications using automation frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium.
• Familiarity with CI/CD servers, version control, and issue tracking software.
• Ability to navigate command-line environments using tools like curl, SSH, grep, and Bash.
• Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes or Docker.
• Background in REST API testing.
• Knowledge of platform-specific monitoring tools like perfmon, htop, or top.
