About the role
James Search Group is hiring for a major global property and casualty insurance firm. You will join an enterprise data and artificial intelligence department focused on modernizing insurance operations through advanced analytics and model deployment.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Build and release full-cycle AI and machine learning models such as forecasting, classification, and uplift tools.
- Refine foundational models to improve performance.
- Discover new ways to apply AI to claims, underwriting, risk assessment, and customer service.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to create scalable solutions.
- Present technical findings and model results to non-technical staff.
- Monitor industry shifts to integrate new methods into the company data stack.
Requirements
- Master degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research, or a related discipline.
- 5 years of professional experience in machine learning and data science, specifically with ensemble models, neural networks, decision trees, and regression.
- 2 years of direct experience working with foundational AI systems and large language models.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience deploying models within cloud environments like AWS or Azure.
- Ability to manage and merge both unstructured and structured data.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining technical data to business partners.
Nice to have
- Experience with NLU and NLP.
- History of leading cross-functional AI initiatives.
- Prior work in the insurance sector, specifically involving risk analytics, underwriting, or claims.
- Familiarity with insurance KPIs and actuarial datasets.
