What you'll do
- Orchestrate the conception and realization of modern data platforms by leveraging deep expertise across multiple cloud ecosystems to deliver robust, future-proof solutions.
- Conduct exhaustive analysis of both functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring the resulting architecture guarantees operational efficiency, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Exercise mastery over core data services and infrastructure components across at least one major public cloud provider, while demonstrating the agility to rapidly extend competencies to emerging technologies.
- Drive proactive technical research and institutional knowledge management, maintaining a decisive edge on industry trends and best practices to guide strategic client decisions.
- Function as the lead architect during both discovery and delivery phases, designing target-state solutions and steering foundational choices that shape the entire project trajectory.
- Act as a pedagogical bridge between complex technical concepts and accessible understanding, enabling effective communication across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Assume responsibility for team assembly and optimization, selecting the most suitable engineering talent to execute the project vision with precision and efficiency.
- Represent Ippon's commitment to quality and innovation throughout client engagements, from initial qualification discussions through the final validation of strategic milestones.
- Collaborate closely with commercial teams to refine opportunity solutions, ensuring technical proposals are aligned with client expectations and contractual realities.
- Champion the implementation of automation, security, and governance frameworks that underpin reliable, auditable, and compliant data operations.
Requirements
- Hold a recognized degree or equivalent professional experience that demonstrates advanced capabilities in data architecture and information systems.
- Possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience designing and implementing data platforms within enterprise-grade environments.
- Exhibit proven expertise in at least one of the dominant cloud provider ecosystems, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of data engineering principles, data warehousing paradigms, and large-scale data processing patterns.
- Show mastery of infrastructure-as-code methodologies and configuration management tools essential for deploying and managing cloud-native architectures.
- Bring substantial experience with data integration frameworks, batch and streaming data pipelines, and real-time processing architectures.
- Display strong knowledge of data governance, security best practices, and regulatory compliance requirements relevant to data-intensive applications.
- Communicate effectively in French and English, ensuring clarity and precision when articulating technical strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to have
- Certification in relevant cloud platforms or data engineering technologies.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and business intelligence methodologies.
Responsibilities within the Ippon ecosystem
- Leverage the collective expertise of a multidisciplinary team spread across 10 agencies and a community of more than 60 data specialists to co-create high-impact solutions.
- Contribute to the realization of data platforms built on a modern stack comprising Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure), Data Lakehouse and Data Warehouse technologies (Databricks, Starburst, Snowflake, BigQuery), and related tooling (dbt, Airflow, AWS Glue, Airbyte).
- Engage with the full Ippon delivery lifecycle, from initial qualification and roadmap validation with clients through to execution and milestone validation, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Participate in the selection and onboarding of engineering resources best suited to project needs, fostering an environment of shared knowledge and continuous improvement.
- Act as a reference in data architecture best practices, security, and automation, supporting the broader community through mentorship and knowledge transfer.

- Progress along a structured development path supported by the BlackBelt program, which provides continuous mentoring, advanced training, and certification opportunities.
- Access multiple career tracks within the data community, including Technical Management (leading a team of 7 engineers), stewardship of strategic Data CoreTeam initiatives, and visibility as a speaker at summits, meetups, and internal events.
- Develop coaching and training capabilities, enabling you to guide new Ippon members in their technical and leadership growth.
