- Conduct performance profiling and debugging for our Go and Rust services, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
- Contribute to the design of our data federation architecture, including S3 integration and data services.
- Develop and maintain gRPC service interfaces and REST/JSON APIs for both internal and external use.
- Manage SQL and NoSQL data stores, focusing on schema design, query optimization, and durability.
- Collaborate with platform engineers and technical leads to make informed infrastructure decisions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, including on-call duties and root cause analysis.
Requirements
- 2-5+ years of experience in backend engineering, particularly with distributed or high-availability systems.
- Proficiency in Go; experience with Python for tooling or data workflows is preferred.
- Knowledge of gRPC and REST/JSON API design at scale; familiarity with gRPC design patterns and API gateway-layer GraphQL is a plus.
- Experience working with both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases in a production environment.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and resource management.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), especially regarding compute, storage, and data services; experience with Terraform or similar tools is advantageous.
- Proven experience with complex system projects such as transitioning from monoliths to microservices, cloud migrations, or managing data pipelines.
- Strong debugging skills, with the ability to analyze flame graphs and identify performance issues; experience in load testing or chaos engineering is a bonus.
- Background in ecommerce, fintech, or other consumer-scale SaaS environments is beneficial but not mandatory.
