About the role
Instructure seeks a Strategic Learning Consultant to partner with K12 and Higher Education institutions in driving meaningful digital transformation. You will own the end to end consultative process for key customers, guiding them through complex change initiatives centered on Instructure products. This role requires you to act as a trusted advisor who translates institutional goals into actionable plans for Canvas, Mastery Connect, and Impact. You will design and deploy tailored strategies that deepen product adoption and elevate teaching and learning outcomes. A core part of this position involves building organizational capacity so that clients can sustain and scale their use of our platform long after engagement. You will leverage data and inquiry to refine approaches and demonstrate clear impact on learner success. Ultimately, you will represent Instructure's commitment to empowering people through intuitive, effective learning technology.

What you'll do
Strategically collaborate with project sponsors, institution leaders, and instructional designers to create integrated communication and engagement plans for Instructure product adoption.
Act as a catalyst for organizational change by aligning the institution's vision with the implementation of Instructure products and supporting transformation goals.
Analyze institutional challenges using data and inquiry processes to develop targeted strategies that enhance teaching and learning within Instructure platforms.
Mentor and motivate faculty, instructional coaches, and staff on the effective use of Canvas, Mastery Connect, and Impact to achieve exceptional educational outcomes.
Listen deeply to customer needs and build customized adoption resources, model courses, and other deliverables that address specific institutional requirements.
Plan, schedule, and conduct product training and consulting sessions using superior organizational skills and appropriate tools to ensure clarity and engagement.
Connect product usage patterns with instructional best practices to help leaders understand the impact on learner success and institutional goals.
Follow up systematically after consulting sessions to monitor progress, solve emerging issues, and promote sustained adoption of Instructure products.
Collaborate cross functionally with team members, Instructure employees, and customers to refine and improve product use across diverse organizations.
Prepare, curate, and deliver exceptional help documents, course materials, and presentations tailored to the strategic needs of each institution.
Demonstrate flexibility to tackle any task that supports customer rollouts while adhering strictly to internal procedures, security protocols, and institutional policies.
Travel to customer sites as needed and appropriate to support the rollout and optimization of Instructure products in varied educational contexts.
Identify gaps in support, training, or consulting and proactively recommend solutions that strengthen implementation and user satisfaction.
Continuously expand your expertise to address evolving customer needs and translate new Instructure capabilities into practical client strategies.
Requirements
You must possess a minimum of three years of teaching or consulting experience within a K12 or higher education environment that includes work in a digital learning setting.
At least two years of hands on experience with Canvas and or Mastery Connect is required, with a demonstrated ability to create engaging and responsive Canvas courses suited to diverse learning needs.
Experience with additional Instructure tools such as Studio, Catalog, Credentials, or Impact is preferred and will strengthen your candidacy.
You must have at least one year in an educational leadership role overseeing a team responsible for the pedagogical use of a learning and assessment management system.
A proven track record in leading change management, developing strong relationships, and executing technology platform rollouts in large organizations is essential.
You must maintain current knowledge of technology adoption strategies, professional development methodologies, and educational technology best practices.
Impeccable executive presence and superior verbal and written communication skills are mandatory for interacting with senior stakeholders.
You must demonstrate creative thinking, strong problem solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail in all deliverables.
The ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources including upper management, clients, and other departments is a non negotiable requirement.
You must be able to exercise sound judgment while following internal procedures and adhering to security and privacy protocols.
A commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service is required in every interaction.
You must be comfortable working independently and as part of a distributed team in a fully remote environment.
Willingness to travel domestically as needed to support client rollouts and on site consultations is required.

Prior experience supporting large scale technology adoptions in complex educational institutions is preferred.
Background in facilitating professional development programs that drive instructional improvement is highly valued.
Experience creating sustainable training and coaching models that build internal expertise is a significant advantage.
Familiarity with data analysis techniques for measuring learning outcomes and platform effectiveness is preferred.
Knowledge of current trends in instructional design and educational innovation will enhance your contributions to the team.
