Scientist/Senior Research Associate

Insight Global is looking for a Scientist or Senior Research Associate specializing in Cell Culture to join a dynamic biotechnology firm dedicated to advancing innovative gene therapy solutions. This role is primarily laboratory-based, focusing on mammalian cell culture and various molecular biology techniques. The successful candidate will excel in a fast-paced research setting and work collaboratively with a diverse team of scientists and engineers.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Conduct routine mammalian cell culture and adhere to aseptic laboratory protocols.
• Manage cell lines through processes such as thawing, passaging, freezing, and banking.
• Perform ddPCR, qPCR, flow cytometry, and other analytical assays.
• Support molecular biology processes including PCR, plasmid preparation, and bacterial transformation.
• Assist in the development of lentiviral and AAV vectors.
• Contribute to projects focused on cell line engineering and characterization.
• Prepare necessary reagents, media, and other laboratory materials.
• Document experimental procedures using Benchling.
• Create clear summaries of data and prepare scientific presentations.
• Uphold high standards for data integrity, reproducibility, and laboratory compliance.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Synthetic Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Cell Biology, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant industry experience in a laboratory environment.
• Practical experience with mammalian cell culture techniques.
• Familiarity with PCR and other molecular biology methods.
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational capabilities and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• A Master's degree in a scientific field.
• Experience with AAV or lentiviral vectors.
• Knowledge of CRISPR, recombinase systems, or cell line engineering techniques.
• Experience with semi-automated workflows.
• Background in high-throughput screening or analytical assays.
• Familiarity with using Benchling software.
