About the role
Insight Global is looking for a Scientist or Senior Research Associate specializing in Cell Culture to join a dynamic biotechnology firm dedicated to advancing innovative gene therapy solutions. This role is primarily laboratory-based, focusing on mammalian cell culture and various molecular biology techniques. The successful candidate will excel in a fast-paced research setting and work collaboratively with a diverse team of scientists and engineers.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Conduct routine mammalian cell culture and adhere to aseptic laboratory protocols.
- Manage cell lines through processes such as thawing, passaging, freezing, and banking.
- Perform ddPCR, qPCR, flow cytometry, and other analytical assays.
- Support molecular biology processes including PCR, plasmid preparation, and bacterial transformation.
- Assist in the development of lentiviral and AAV vectors.
- Contribute to projects focused on cell line engineering and characterization.
- Prepare necessary reagents, media, and other laboratory materials.
- Document experimental procedures using Benchling.
- Create clear summaries of data and prepare scientific presentations.
- Uphold high standards for data integrity, reproducibility, and laboratory compliance.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Synthetic Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Cell Biology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant industry experience in a laboratory environment.
- Practical experience with mammalian cell culture techniques.
- Familiarity with PCR and other molecular biology methods.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational capabilities and attention to detail.
Nice to have
- A Master's degree in a scientific field.
- Experience with AAV or lentiviral vectors.
- Knowledge of CRISPR, recombinase systems, or cell line engineering techniques.
- Experience with semi-automated workflows.
- Background in high-throughput screening or analytical assays.
- Familiarity with using Benchling software.
