SDE IV - Engineering

About the role

InMobi is seeking a technical lead to manage and expand data engineering capabilities within its Demand-Side Platform. This role involves designing large-scale systems for real-time bidding, audience targeting, and campaign attribution while mentoring engineering staff.

What you'll do

• Manage end-to-end batch and real-time data pipelines for bid requests, impression logs, and conversion signals.
• Develop and maintain a data lakehouse architecture to support low-latency analytics and machine learning feature generation.
• Oversee StarRocks deployments and enforce data governance, including PII handling and GDPR/CCPA compliance.
• Architect backend microservices for budget management, bid shading, and reporting APIs.
• Define standards for service reliability, API design, and observability using low-latency data stores like Aerospike or Cassandra.
• Lead technical roadmap planning, architecture reviews, and mentorship for SDE II and SDE III engineers.
• Collaborate with machine learning teams on model serving, training, and feature engineering.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 4 years focused on data engineering or large-scale distributed systems.
• Prior experience in programmatic advertising, ad-tech, or real-time bidding environments.
• Expertise in distributed stream processing using Flink, Kafka, or Spark Structured Streaming.
• Strong proficiency in SQL at petabyte scale.
• Hands-on experience with real-time analytical databases such as StarRocks, ClickHouse, or Snowflake.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect and open table formats including Iceberg, Hudi, or Delta Lake.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala, along with experience in Kubernetes, gRPC, and RESTful microservices.
• Knowledge of the RTB ecosystem, identity resolution, and global privacy regulations.
• Proven ability to lead technical squads and deliver production-ready systems from ambiguous requirements.
