SDE IV - Backend

About the role

InMobi is seeking a senior backend engineer to manage and scale our global advertising infrastructure. You will work on high-traffic systems that process billions of daily ad requests while ensuring performance and reliability.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Maintain the stability, observability, and scalability of our data platform.
• Manage production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and execute platform improvements.
• Architect and deploy platform features, choosing between batch or streaming processes and orchestration tools like Airflow or Argo.
• Optimize system performance through indexing, partitioning, and resource management.
• Apply FinOps principles to drive cost efficiency.
• Manage the platform as a product by defining KPIs for usage and performance.
• Develop maintainable, modular code and build CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical decision-making across teams.

Requirements

• 7 to 10 years of experience in data or platform engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Shell, and Linux environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD workflows.
• Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms including Azure, GCP, or AWS.
• Familiarity with data formats such as Parquet, Delta, or Iceberg.
• Experience with compute engines like Databricks, Clickhouse, or Trino.
• Ability to design fault-tolerant systems with robust caching and storage strategies.
• Understanding of data governance, SLA/SLO tracking, and schema evolution.

Nice to have

• Experience with model serving frameworks.
