About the role

The Indian Army is seeking a Drone Engineer intern to support the development and maintenance of drone systems. This position offers hands-on experience with UAV technology and the opportunity to work on various aspects of flight software and counter-drone technologies. The intern will engage in practical tasks that contribute to the overall mission of the Army.

What you'll do

• Assist with the assembly, testing, and upkeep of unmanned aerial vehicle platforms.
• Aid in the integration of flight controllers, GPS units, sensors, communication devices, and payloads.
• Participate in flight evaluations, data gathering, troubleshooting, and performance assessments.
• Create or adjust software for mission planning, autonomous operations, and telemetry using programming languages like Python or C++.
• Help produce UAV design documentation, technical reports, and project presentations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards throughout all drone activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address engineering issues and enhance system efficiency.
• Basic understanding of UAV systems, electronics, aerodynamics, embedded systems, or robotics is required.
• Familiarity with CAD software, programming, MATLAB, Python, or C++ is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities are essential.

Requirements

• Candidates must hold an M. Tech. / M.E in Electronics and Avionics, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Communication Technology, Electronics and Computer Engineering, or Electronics Engineering.
• Alternatively, applicants can have a B.Tech. / B.E. or equivalent in Digital Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering (Microwaves), or Electronics and Avionics.
• Must be available for the entire 75-day internship duration.
• Relevant skills and a genuine interest in drone technology are necessary.

Practical notes

• Working hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday.
• Stipend is disbursed upon successful completion of the internship; attendance below 75% will disqualify the candidate from receiving payment.
• Police verification is mandatory prior to joining.
• Accommodation is not provided.
• Personal smartphones and laptops are not allowed on the premises; workstations will be available for use.
