About the role

The Indian Army is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern to join its Internship Program. This role will focus on enhancing cybersecurity measures, ensuring secure infrastructure, and managing risks effectively. Interns will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of cybersecurity over a 75-day period.

What you'll do

• Assist in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for applications, networks, and systems in authorized environments.
• Help monitor security, analyze logs, and investigate incidents.
• Carry out security audits and pinpoint potential vulnerabilities using industry-standard tools.
• Engage in configuring network security, implementing endpoint protection, and managing access controls.
• Aid in the preparation of cybersecurity reports, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
• Learn about secure coding practices and help identify common application security vulnerabilities.
• Follow ethical hacking principles, cybersecurity policies, and relevant legal and regulatory guidelines throughout assignments.
• Work collaboratively with diverse teams to improve the organization's security posture and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Have a foundational understanding of computer networks, operating systems, cybersecurity basics, and programming.
• Familiarity with Linux, Python, networking protocols, or cybersecurity tools is a plus.

Requirements

• Candidates must hold a B.Tech. / B.E. or equivalent degree with a specialization in one of the following areas:
• Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
• Computer and Information Science
• Computer Science
• Computer Science and Engineering
• Cyber Forensics and Information Security
• Alternatively, a M. Tech. / M.E. degree with a specialization in:
• Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (with a focus on Cyber Security)
• Computer Engineering
• Cyber Forensics and Information Security
• Must be available for the entire 75-day internship duration.
• Relevant skills and a genuine interest in the project area are essential.

Practical notes

• Working hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday.
• Stipend is disbursed upon successful completion of the internship; those with less than 75% attendance will not be eligible.
• A police verification process is required prior to joining.
• Accommodation is not provided.
• Personal smartphones and laptops are not allowed on the premises; workstations will be available for use.
