About the role
Homebound is looking for an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations for single-family home projects in Tampa. This role focuses on managing the entire construction process from start to finish, prioritizing safety and quality above all else. You will ensure homes are delivered on schedule and within budget while maintaining exceptional building standards.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities for assigned homes.
- Manage up to 15 single-family homes concurrently through various construction phases.
- Monitor workmanship and confirm adherence to work scopes using checklists and field inspections.
- Execute daily operations with Homebound's proprietary project management software.
- Approve trade partner work and invoices based on quality and completion.
- Implement safety protocols on site and ensure compliance with local and national codes and permitting requirements.
- Maintain both digital and physical project documentation.
- Proactively initiate and communicate any changes to scope, plans, or specifications.
- Follow established operational procedures for communication, change orders, and financial tracking.
- Keep daily logs of site activity and coordinate inspections to maintain schedule momentum.
- Collaborate with Project Managers on buyouts and provide feedback on budgeting and trade performance.
- Participate in client walkthroughs and secure occupancy permits upon project completion.
- Perform other construction-related duties as needed.
Requirements
- 4+ years of construction industry experience, with direct field experience in home building (e.g., custom, infill, production).
- Ability to independently read and interpret structural plans and blueprints.
- Knowledge of local building codes, permits, and the home construction process.
- Experience working with project managers and trade partners to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel for managing project schedules, budgets, and progress tracking.
- A valid driver's license.
