About the role
Homebound is creating new ways to build homes with technology, transforming residential construction. The Investment Strategy team is hiring an Acquisitions Analyst to evaluate and secure new properties. This role supports the infill development pipeline by underwriting opportunities and coordinating diligence.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Underwrite residential properties, both on and off-market, using internal and external data.
- Review many opportunities each week to determine if they meet company criteria.
- Lead diligence tasks such as reviewing zoning, utilities, taxes, insurance, easements, and HOA or municipal rules.
- Coordinate with other teams like Architecture & Design, Procurement, Operations, and Strategy to ensure assumptions match buildability and margin goals.
- Prepare deal summaries, sensitivity analyses, and recommendations for leadership.
- Maintain libraries of comparable properties, market dashboards, and acquisition performance indicators.
- Help create investment materials for both external capital partners and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with other tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a similar analytical field.
- 1-2 years of experience acquiring single-family residential properties, preferably for a large home builder or real estate firm.
- Strong quantitative skills to evaluate data quickly and accurately.
- High attention to detail and personal accountability.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a consistent volume of underwriting with minimal supervision.
- Comfort adapting to new markets, workflows, and tools in a fast-paced setting.
- Interest in residential real estate, development, and investment analysis.
