Plant HR Leader

About the role

Home Chef is seeking a Senior Manager of Human Resources to drive site-specific strategy and foster a high-performing culture at our San Bernardino facility. This role requires a hands-on leader who will spend time on the production floor, coach management, and align human resources initiatives with our broader operational goals. You will oversee the local HR team while ensuring our workplace remains inclusive, productive, and fully compliant with all regulations.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with company-wide HR centers of excellence to roll out programs that improve the employee experience.
• Serve as a key member of the site leadership team to influence long-term strategic planning.
• Cultivate an inclusive environment that supports high retention and aligns with company values.
• Analyze HR metrics and data to diagnose operational challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Coach and mentor mid-level managers on organizational design, succession planning, and talent development.
• Walk the production floor regularly to engage with staff, provide feedback, and facilitate people-focused discussions.
• Manage and lead the dedicated Plant HR team.
• Ensure all facility operations adhere to company policies and government labor laws.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing HR setting.
• At least 2 years of experience in a management or mentorship capacity for HR staff.
• Proven background as an HR Business Partner.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and HR procedures.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

• Prior experience working within a startup or a high-growth organization.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Suite.
• Strong change management and organizational development capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
