FSQA Supervisor at Home Chef
About the role
The FSQA Supervisor manages food safety and quality control operations to ensure product consistency and regulatory compliance. This role involves direct supervision of staff, active participation in quality monitoring, and close collaboration with production teams to resolve safety or quality issues.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Assign daily and weekly tasks to FSQA Techs, Leads, and Sanitors while managing resource allocation.
- Collaborate with the FSQA Superintendent on scheduling and shift metric reporting.
- Monitor production processes including portioning, meal bagging, and final box verification.
- Conduct GMP audits and enforce food safety standards across the facility.
- Perform technical inspections such as metal detection verification, environmental swabbing, and pre-shipment reviews.
- Manage product holds and assist in resolving quality issues related to procurement or production.
- Train, coach, and evaluate the performance of FSQA and sanitation staff.
- Support non-competitive facility duties as needed, including safety investigations or general maintenance assistance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Ability to obtain ServSafe Manager certification within 30 days of start date.
- Competency in using and maintaining laboratory and quality instrumentation.
- Knowledge of weighing and filling equipment.
- 3+ years of experience in food quality or food safety is preferred.
- Spanish fluency is preferred.
- Knowledge of metal detection is preferred.
