Social Content Strategist & Creator
Job description
About the role
A direct-to-consumer subscription brand moves its Instagram presence away from a US agency and toward an in-house strategist. This contract role owns the end-to-end social strategy, content creation, and influencer collaboration for a growing global audience. The position operates remotely within US time zones and requires a self-driven professional who can work with minimal supervision.
Data roles turn raw information into decisions. Analysts query databases and build dashboards. Data scientists build models that predict outcomes. Data engineers build the pipelines that move and store data. All three work closely with business teams and need a mix of statistics, coding, and communication. Nearly every modern company runs on data teams, from startups to banks. A strong portfolio of past analyses matters more than degrees in many hiring decisions.
Key facts
Engagement type is contract.
Time zone is US (PST to EST).
Location is remote.
Degree requirement is stated.
What you'll do
Content gaps and opportunities are identified, and ideas are brought forward proactively.
Cover images are selected and thumbnails are managed so that every post looks intentional and polished.
Instagram analytics are monitored so that strategy adjusts based on engagement and growth trends.
Requirements
Native or near-native English fluency is demonstrated in both writing and speaking.
A portfolio is presented that shows real brand ownership and not just posts assigned for scheduling.
Visual sensibility and content production skills are demonstrably strong beyond basic Canva.
Experience running influencer or UGC coordination pipelines is shown.
A track record of owning a social media presence from strategy through execution is proven.
Remote work experience with US or UK-based companies is required, along with proficiency in tools such as Asana, ClickUp, WhatsApp, or Google Workspace; applications without this experience will not be considered.
Nice to have
Experience with D2C or subscription-based e-commerce businesses is present.
Understanding of the target consumer demographic, including what resonates and what turns them off, is shown.
Comfort with on-camera appearances for content or candidate videos exists.
Skills & tools
Instagram and short-form video platforms are used.
Practical notes
This role is remote with US time-zone alignment, and a degree as stated in the listing is required. The application form must be completed in full, and a video is required as part of the interview process. Typical interview steps
Data interviews commonly include a SQL or coding exercise, a statistics question, and a case study. Candidates may be asked to design a metric, interpret an experiment, or build a small model. Some companies give a take-home analysis. Expect questions about past projects and the business impact of your work. Interviewers often evaluate how you communicate uncertainty and business impact, not only the math. Bringing a clean write-up of a past analysis to the interview is well received.
Good to know
The role centers on social media strategy, content creation, and influencer collaboration for a subscription D2C brand. Success relies on strong visual judgment, clear English communication, and experience managing remote workflows. Familiarity with content performance analytics and UGC pipelines is central to the position.
Questions to ask
Good questions to ask the employer in the interview: what does success look like in the first six months, how is the team structured, what is the current biggest challenge, and how are decisions made. Asking about growth paths and the review process is also well received. Employers expect questions, and good ones show preparation.
Career growth
Data careers grow toward senior analyst, staff data scientist, or data engineering lead. Many professionals specialize in machine learning, analytics, or infrastructure. Cross-functional work with product and engineering teams becomes more important at senior levels. The field changes quickly, so continuous learning is part of the job. Professionals who can translate numbers into decisions tend to advance fastest.
