What you'll do

• Architect and construct robust, scalable full-stack solutions that align with product objectives and enhance user journeys.
• Guide and mentor fellow engineers on advanced development techniques, architectural principles, and coding standards.
• Champion your team's technical requirements and priorities within the wider engineering department.
• Contribute to product strategy by evaluating technical feasibility, understanding user needs, defining features, and validating concepts.
• Partner with design teams to create user-friendly and engaging interfaces that address user challenges.
• Coordinate with other engineering groups to ensure smooth integration and communication between services.
• Help shape the technical direction of the team and platform by identifying new technologies and investments that boost security, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Deconstruct complex projects into manageable, actionable steps for successful execution.
• Implement comprehensive observability, including logging, monitoring, and alerting, to maintain system health.
• Enhance team engineering standards through process and tool improvements.
• Analyze performance data and user input to pinpoint areas for enhancement and drive optimization.
• Develop and maintain clear technical documentation for architecture and development workflows.
• Conduct code reviews and foster knowledge sharing within the team.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and propose solutions for optimization.
• Stay current with industry advancements and suggest innovative approaches to improve the platform.
• Support the hiring process by participating in interviews and onboarding new engineers.
• Foster an environment of open communication and continuous improvement through constructive feedback.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a software engineer, with a track record of shipping production code.
• At least 3 years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering backend distributed systems.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience working with microservice architectures.
• Strong command of TypeScript for both frontend (React or similar) and backend (Node.js or similar) development.
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable systems that are relied upon by other engineering teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, balancing curiosity with decisive action.
• Proficient communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on understanding user needs.
• Experience with agile development methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and testing best practices.
• Ability to independently prioritize across ambiguous and cross-team initiatives.

Nice to have

• Experience with NextJS and NestJS.
• Background in building developer frameworks or tools.
• Expertise in web performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes/AWS and DevOps practices.
