What you'll do

• Develop and implement well-structured, maintainable software solutions that align with product needs.
• Create detailed technical design documents to guide development efforts and incorporate team feedback.
• Write modular, testable code and ensure adherence to squad testing protocols.
• Provide constructive feedback during code reviews, focusing on standards and functionality.
• Address technical debt by contributing fixes and proposing prioritization.
• Participate in product discovery to evaluate technical feasibility and user needs.
• Ensure smooth integration and communication between various systems and services.
• Implement basic logging, monitoring, and alerting for developed systems.
• Deconstruct projects into manageable tasks and drive them to completion.
• Analyze performance data and user feedback to identify areas for enhancement.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes.
• Share knowledge with colleagues and suggest improvements to team workflows.
• Assist in the hiring process through technical screens and interviews.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of professional software engineering experience, including shipping production code.
• Experience building and contributing to back-end distributed systems and services.
• Familiarity with microservice architecture patterns.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience developing scalable web applications and services, ideally in a cloud environment.
• Practical experience deploying and hosting applications on Kubernetes and AWS.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Experience with relational databases, with a preference for PostgreSQL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills within a team setting.
• Ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare technology, wearables, or connected device data.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React, React Native, NextJS, GraphQL).
• Experience with Node.js, Redis, or Kotlin.
• Experience optimizing web application performance.
