Job description
Director, Category Management, Hers
About the role
This position is responsible for driving the success of the Hers product categories. You will lead strategic initiatives focused on customer acquisition, retention, and the introduction of new treatments, directly impacting the P&L. This role offers a clear path to managing your own category as a General Manager.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Own the complete lifecycle of initiatives that significantly influence profitability, from initial strategy to final results, covering customer acquisition, retention, and new product introductions.
- Manage key performance indicators such as Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Lifetime Value (LTV), Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), Submit-to-Subscriber (S2S), and contribution margin.
- Evaluate and prioritize new projects by assessing their potential impact versus the effort required, and clearly recommend which initiatives should be pursued and when.
- Collaborate with growth and lifecycle management teams to boost customer acquisition, conversion rates, and retention throughout the customer journey.
- Develop strategies for pricing, product bundling, and merchandising to enhance both profit margins and customer lifetime value.
- Identify, assess, and launch new treatments, product variations, and programs, developing business cases, forecasts, and execution plans.
- Ensure a high-quality, empathetic, and destigmatizing customer experience by analyzing the entire journey from initial contact through fulfillment and ongoing care.
- Act as the primary point of contact for your initiatives, ensuring alignment across clinical, regulatory, product, growth, analytics, pharmacy, and operations teams.
- Establish clear objectives and success metrics for all managed initiatives and report on performance during regular business reviews.
- Treat regulatory compliance, including FDA, compounding, and state telehealth requirements, as a strategic advantage rather than an obstacle.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in category management, strategy and operations, general management, or a similar role with direct business accountability, preferably within a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- A proven history of successfully leading significant projects or managing a P&L, resulting in measurable improvements in revenue, profit, or customer retention.
- Demonstrated ability to launch and scale new products or programs from concept to full implementation.
- Strong analytical skills and financial acumen, with the ability to build and defend financial models and make informed decisions even with incomplete data.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, effectively aligning clinical, product, growth, and operations departments towards a common goal.
- A proactive approach, favoring the launch of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) and iterative improvements over extensive pre-development work.
- The drive and capability to advance into a General Manager role with full category ownership.
- A Bachelor's degree.
Nice to have
- Experience in Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) markets, telehealth, or the consumer health sector.
- Background in regulated healthcare products, pharmacy operations, or compounding.
